Smart Grid for All
The Center for Mathematics, Science, and Technology at Illinois State University has designed and implemented a Smart Grid for Schools program, which has recently expanded to become Smart Grid for All. Smart Grid for Schools offers K-12 students the opportunity to learn about the smart grid through hands-on interactives, but we are making all those hands-on interactives available digitally! While K-12 students will continue to be an important part of our audience, even adults have expressed an appreciation for our digital interactives.
As utility companies in Illinois complete the roll-out of smart meters and other smart technologies, now is the perfect time to learn about the smart grid!

Available Tools
There are presently 6 learning tools available. The virtual tools are freely available to all, while hands-on materials may be reserved at no cost to Illinois educators.
Training for Educators
While anyone is welcome to use our tools, we encourage educators to begin their work with Smart Grid tools by attending a virtual or in-person training. Details on this process can be found on our Training Opportunities page.
